Green Homes Australia

www.greenhomesaustralia.com.au

Green Homes Australia was founded in 2006 by a group of builders who realised that the message of building green was not getting through to the Builders and Tradies of Australia.

Misconceptions lay around the cost and difficulty of building sustainable homes; both of which were proved to be unfounded after Green Homes Australia built their first two green homes in 2006. Not only did the energy efficient eco homes come in at the same cost per square metre as a standard home, they were also easy to build if the principles of building green were properly understood, of course you can also get architectural resources for this in sites like archute.com.

It was after these two sustainable homes were built that Green Homes Australia began to be inundated with emails and phone calls from tradespeople and home owners wanting to know more about how to build green. The Green Homes Australia website was created, but the market was still crying out for more.

GHA began to investigate what green trade associations existed for tradespeople and builders to turn to. After extensive searching it became clear that there was no green trade organisation specifically for builders and tradies, so the team at GHA set about turning their information based model into a trade association.

Seven years later and Green Homes Australia has put all it knows about building Green Homes into a franchise (The Green Builders) and into the hands of builders across the country. With our tailored and refined Green Builder franchise, a builder could be in any state, any region, any town across Australia, and be able to build affordable, comfortable and energy efficient homes that customers,
